Product Introduction:
Acetylcholinesterase Staining Kit (Copper Ferrocyanide Method) belongs to the Karnovsky-Roots method, whose staining principle is that acetylcholinesterase hydrolyzes stable iodine-substituted substrate and releases small sulfur-containing molecules with reducing properties, and the latter combines with copper ions to form an insoluble reddish-brown to dark-brown colored precipitate at the enzyme-activated site which is revealed. The advantages are ease of operation and less diffusion of esterase, but the substrate is less permeable to tissue.
This stain can be used to observe the changes in the central and peripheral nerve fibers in the case of disease, and is also useful in the diagnosis of megacolonosis and abnormal development of enteric neurons. Organic pesticide poisoning can cause the enzyme to be inhibited, the enzyme activity decreases and the reaction is negative. The active site of the enzyme is a brown precipitate.
