The Golgi apparatus is an organelle composed of many flat vesicles with secretion as its main function. Also known as Golgi apparatus or Golgi complex; Golgi apparatus is a highly polar organelle formed by several flat vesicles stacked together. It is often distributed between the endoplasmic reticulum and the cell membrane, which is arched or hemispherical. The protruding side facing the endoplasmic reticulum is called formingface or cisface. The concave side facing the plasma membrane is called the matureface or transface. There are some large or small transport vesicles on both cisface and transface. In polar cells, Golgi bodies are often widely distributed in the cytoplasm of the secretory end. Because it looks very much like the smooth endoplasmic reticulum, some scientists think it evolved from the smooth endoplasmic reticulum. The main function of the Golgi apparatus is to process, compare, classify and package the proteins synthesized by the endoplasmic reticulum, and then send them to specific parts of the cell or secrete them outside the cell. The main enzymes in Golgi apparatus are glycosyltransferase, sulfo-glycosyltransferase, oxidoreductase, phosphatase, protein kinase, mannosidase, transferase and phospholipase. The yeast Golgi apparatus extraction kit provides a full set of reagents for extracting Golgi bodies from various yeast samples. The extraction process is simple and convenient. This kit can not be used to extract Golgi apparatus from frozen yeast samples.
