Poly(I:C) is a polymer of inosine acid and cytidylate. It’s an immune booster. Can be used to simulate a virus infection. Poly(I:C) interacts with toll-like receptor (TLR) 3, a protein on the surface of B cells, macrophages, and dendritic cells. Poly(I:C) is structurally similar to the double-stranded RNA of some viruses and can act as a natural enhancer of TLR3. Poly(I:C) is often used in immunological studies as an analogue of double-stranded RNA.
