Principle of
Tryptone, beef extract powder and yeast extract powder provide nitrogen source, vitamin and growth factor; Sodium chloride maintains a balanced osmotic pressure; Bacterial hydrolyzed escin reacts with iron ions in ferric ammonium citrate to form black 6, 7-dihydroxycoumarin. Sodium citrate, bile salt and sodium azide were selective bacteriostatic agents to inhibit non-streptococcal bacteria. AGAR is a coagulant.
Usage:
Weigh 56.3g in 1L distilled water, heat and boil until completely dissolved, autoclave at 121℃ for 15min and set aside
Purpose:
Plate counts for enterococci.
