Product introduction:
Safranin O is a natural dye extracted from the stigma of saffron, a heterochromatic cationic dye used as a biological staining agent in histology and cytology, and an oxidation-reduction indicator in analytical chemistry. Used as a counterstaining agent in Gram staining, it can also be used for cartilage tissue staining and plant lignification identification staining. Safranin O turns red when dissolved in water and red when dissolved in ethanol (with yellow light and red fluorescence). It turns green in concentrated sulfuric acid, turns blue when diluted, and turns red. Adding sodium hydroxide to its aqueous solution produces a brownish red precipitate, while adding hydrochloric acid results in a blue purple color.
