Vector description: pEGFP-N1 encodes a redshift variant of wild-type GFP that has been optimized for brighter fluorescence and higher expression in mammalian cells (maximum excitation wavelength =488nm, maximum release wavelength =507nm). The EGFP gene codes for a sequence that contains more than 190 silent base variations, which correspond to human codon use preferences. One side of the EGFP sequence has been transformed into a translation initiation site consistent with KozaK, further improving the translation efficiency in eukaryotic cells.
