It is highly refractive, elasticize usually thinner than collagen fibers.The commonly used elastic fiber dyeing methods include Gomori aldehyde fuchsin method, resorcinol fuchsin method,orcein method, Victoria blue method, iron iodine hematoxylin method, etc. Elastic fiber staining can display changes in elastic fibers in skin tissue, such as elastic fiber nevi, skin ring-shaped granulomas, scleroderma, etc.
The Elastic Fiber Stain Kit (Orcein Method) is easy to operate, but the background color is darker than other methods, the color contrast is average, and sometimes it can also stain lipofuscin in liver cells.
