Background | This peptide is an innate defense regulator (IDR-1). IDR-1 acts through mitogen-activated protein kinase and other signaling pathways, enhances levels of monocyte chemokines while reducing pro-inflammatory cytokine responses. IDR-1 counters infection by selective modulation of innate immunity. It is protective against Gram-positive and Gram-negative pathogens in mouse models of infection. |
