Background | TSST-1 is a "superantigen" which binds to MHC class II molecules and induces stimulation of T cells. This TSST-1 fragment has an active site of the TSST-1 holotoxin which binds to MHC class II molecules and is able to xenostimulate T cells in an MHC unrestricted manner. Therefore this peptide could be of great value in studying the immunobiology of MHC class II molecules. |
